This week, we’re discussing design and development with Chip Howorth, the Managing Principal of S+H Group.  A Nashville native, Chip attended Montgomery Bell Academy before attending the University of Mississippi where he received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2004.  After spending three years with a large A/E design firm in Nashville, Chip then attended the University of Tennessee College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate in 2010.  Chip went into private practice with Smith Cashion & Orr, PLC, a construction litigation firm in Nashville, before forming S+H Group.

As Managing Principal of S+H Group, Chip focuses on business development, client relations management and team leadership.  Additionally, Chip serves as general counsel for S+H Group.  Chip is very active in the community as he serves and has served on the boards of The Phoenix Club of Nashville, the YMCA of Middle Tennessee, Boys and Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee, Junior Achievement, the Green Hills YMCA and multiple Urban Land Institute committees.

Chip has a passion for neighborhoods and the development of the built environment. Chip believes that development is empowering and an agent of change for neighborhoods and works to ensure that S+H Group's developments are thoughtful and transformational.
